Graduated as a Middle Technician in Chemistry in 1975 in the USSR, a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry at the University of Havana in 1980 and a Doctor of Science in 1994. He began in photography in 1969, exhibiting for the first time in 1985.
He began his working life in 1975, in a laboratory specialized in technical and scientific photography, which he directed from 1983. Since 1997 he has dedicated himself entirely to photography.
He gives conferences, courses and workshops on photographic issues, in Cuba and abroad and participates as an organizer and jury in international photography and advertising events and competitions.
He has worked as a photographer and director for various publications and numerous commercial productions. In 2007 Ediciones Polymita was founded, of which he is Editorial Director.
